What the Holiday Season Means to me.

I grew up a lonely boy, with out a dad. I would always look forward to Christmas because I know there was one man that loved me and his name was Santa Clause. I just wanted someone to love me like my mom. I have the best mom a kid could ever have, but when I got the few toys that I got it made me feel the love I’ve been looking for. I’am older now and I still feel that way. Not for me, but knowing there are kids out there that feel the way I did as a kid. I never fit in because I didn’t know how to read or write. Today thanks to Learn to Read I’am trying to do the things in life I didn’t get to do as a kid as a boy and as a young man. That is to read and write. So if I can have one wish for Christmas, It would be for Santa to help me to read and write. I have a little girl that is 8 years old, and she is blind and can not talk or walk. I love her so much. All I can do is give her all the love a daddy can give. the best gift of life is love, hugs and kiss. And for a kids like me is a gift that will last a life time. So for all moms and dad’s out there give your kids a kiss and a hug, and tell them that you love them.

Thank you Learn to Read, with you Dreams do come true. Someday I would like to write a book about my life.

Merry Christmas to All

Sincerely,

One Lonely Kid

Our students are everyday people who, for the first time, may be reading to their children and grandchildren, seeking a promotion, owning their first home, learning how to drive or becoming a U.S. Citizen. Our students come from all walks of life, the youngest being 16 to the most experienced being 84. They are your family members, neighbors, co-workers and friends. Learning to read impacts all of us; let’s keep the passion alive from one generation to the next.

Why I want to learn to read?

I want to learn to read because there are some words that I can’t read. If I lean to read and spell some words I will be able to read and it will help me understand things more help my kids with there school work. I will word hard on learning how to read so that I could help my kids and myself.

I want to learn to read because I’m going to get my GED. When I get my GED, I will continuous to go to college and learn for my education and then I may success to get a better job. I am asking God every single day to help me in my learning, because nothing harder to God if you put him first. I hope God will give me what I am asking from him.
